The Noida Authority will soon set up automated car washing stations that will also have a cafeterias with a seating capacity of six and EV charging stations. These will be set up near the STPs in sectors 50, 55, 124 and 168 and on main roads with ample parking.
The Authority released the bids in the first week of March, after which, the bidders sought additional amenities in the request for proposal (RFP). Following the subsequent meetings with the officials, the Authority agreed to a cafeteria with two tables and a maximum seating capacity of six.
All car washing facilities will be equipped with CCTV cameras and a sensor-based monitoring system to keep track of the number of vehicles using the facility.
The document on the Noida Authority’s website said a minimum of 500 sqm will be mandatory at each location under the project. The water used for car washing will further be managed under the provisions of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) and UP Pollution Control Board (UPPCB), officials said.
Initially, the Authority is planning to set up four automated car washing facilities using treated water on a public-private partnership (PPP) model.
The Authority plans to provide land and treated water to the companies at no extra cost. So far, four companies have shown interest in the project. They are required to submit their detailed proposal along with the mechanism through which they wish to provide a feasible and sustainable solution.
The initiative, taken under the Swachh Survekshan-2023, aims at providing high-quality, environment-friendly, affordable car washing services to residents while curbing potable water usage for the purpose. The city has nearly 8 lakh four-wheelers registered.
