Audi is gaining ground in the three-way battle with BMW and Mercedes-Benz: In the first half of the year, the brand was able to increase its deliveries significantly more than its two southern German rivals. Audi delivered 907,111 vehicles worldwide in the six months, 15.5 percent more than in the same period of 2022, Audi announced on Friday in Ingolstadt. The month of June was even the best June ever.
The other two premium manufacturers had previously reported weaker growth: the BMW brand grew by 4.7 percent in the first half of the year, and Mercedes-Benz by 6 percent.
In absolute numbers, however, both were still well ahead of the Ingolstadt team. BMW sold 1.07 million vehicles by the end of June, Mercedes-Benz 1.02 million.

In the USA, Audi grew by 30 percent in the first six months and by 24 percent in Europe. In China, on the other hand, only a mini plus of two percent was achieved. Sales of pure electric cars increased worldwide by 50 percent to 75,647 vehicles. Overall, every twelfth newly delivered Audi was purely electric.
