The solar and green hydrogen energy sectors have huge investment and growth potential for the next 50 years, said Bhagwant Khuba, the union minister of state for chemicals, fertilisers, and renewable energy.
During his interactive session with the industry group during his visit to Nashik on Sunday, Khuba said that the centre is taking various measures to promote renewable energy sectors like solar and green hydrogen.
“There is huge potential in this sector as the demand for both solar and green hydrogen will continue to increase for the next five decades,” said Khuba, who exuded confidence that the country will emerge as the major exporter of solar and green hydrogen in the coming few years.
Khuba further said that the centre has decided to promote the manufacturing of semiconductors and will establish a semiconductor ecosystem to become self-reliant in the production of semiconductors, which are a major part of electronic devices.
Stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken several steps to boost the Indian economy, Khuba said that India will be the number one economy in the world during the next 25 years.
“The industrial sector had been badly affected during the COVID pandemic, but the centre provided relief of Rs 22 lakh crore for the MSMEs in the country, which is why the Indian economy survived despite the pandemic,” he said.
The interactive programme with industries was held at the office of the Nashik Industries & Manufacturers’ Association (NIMA)—NIMA House—in Satpur industrial areas in Nashik city.
During the action, industries demanded relaxation in the conditions of the government tenders related to solar energy so that small industrial units may be able to take part in the government tender process. The industries also demanded that Nashik set up a cluster for manufacturing solar panels and other equipment.
Khuba assured the industries that he will discuss all their issues and demands with the officials from his ministry and will sort out all their issues.
