New Delhi: Tata Motors, India’s leading automotive manufacturer, reported a total of 78,844 units sold in the domestic market during July 2023. This figure indicates a marginal decline compared to the same period last year when the company sold 78,978 units.
The overall sales performance also experienced a slight drop, as total sales for July 2023 reached 80,633 units, compared to 81,790 units in July 2022.
In the passenger vehicle (PV) segment, Tata Motors managed to sell 47,689 units in July 2023, showing a slight increase from the 47,636 units sold in the same month last year.
However, the commercial vehicle segment experienced a 4% year-on-year (YoY) decline, with sales standing at 32,944 units in July 2023, compared to 34,154 units in July 2022.
The total sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market were recorded at 31,216 units during July 2023, slightly lower than the 31,473 units sold in the same period last year.
In the specific category of medium and heavy commercial vehicles (MH&ICV), which includes trucks and buses, Tata Motors achieved notable growth, selling 13,291 units in July 2023, compared to 12,012 units in July 2022.
The combined sales figure for MH&ICV, both in the domestic and international markets, was 13,830 units in July 2023, indicating growth from the 12,974 units sold in July 2022.
