New Delhi: The second edition of the Global EV Summit was hosted on IIM Bangalore campus on August 19 and focused on the role of leadership in driving the EV India story, government policy, alternate fuel research, technology investments by various organizations, and the critical role of software in shaping the next generation electric vehicle (EV).
It was organised by the think-tank forum EV SIG formed under the guidance of the IIMB Alumni Association- Bengaluru chapter. The event drew over 250 participants and hosted nearly 20 distinguished speakers from the domains of EV and Automotive.
The summit, spanning the entire day, unfolded with rich conversations, debates, and discussions through a series of five-panel discussions and fireside chats. The session was inaugurated by Prof Sourav Mukerji, Dean of Alumni relations and Professor IIMB, followed by 2 power-packed keynotes delivered by Manu Saale and Prashanth Doreswamy setting the stage for the event. The panels spanned across a diverse spectrum- from ESG norms to overcoming the market dynamics. These discussions were not just platforms for sharing knowledge; but also set the stage for strong collaborative engagement between various ecosystem partners coming together to propel the growth of the EV industry.
The discussions ranged from technology trends that are reshaping the landscape, to how products and services are delivered from India for India and for the global market. Gaining prominence of sustainability, how luxury is not compromising on sustainability, role of academia in innovation and research was covered by various panellists.
Leadership from various established OEM and Tier 1 including Continental, Mercedes Benz, Tata Elxsi, Mahindra and Mahindra, Tata Green Batteries, Visteon, Embitel WRI, CSTEP, ARM, NXP, EXIDE and educational institute representatives such as IISc and IIMB participated in the event.
