Ferrari tribute with the 499P queen of Le Mans
Style, innovation, high performance, luxury: Ferrari is all of this. As well as racing and competitions. “Winning and even simple participation have a special flavor in Monza”: said Enzo Ferrari. And the Cavallino, following the sentiment of its founder, provides a dutiful tribute to its home race with a prestigious presence in the Fanzone with single-seaters and cars with covered wheels. Of particular relevance, the 499P, the Hypercar, which gave the Cavallino a victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans which had been missing for 58 years, with the crew formed by Antonio Giovinazzi, Alessandro Pier Guidi and James Calado. Just Giovinazzi, engaged in Monza as reserve driver of the red, will be among the protagonists in the Fanzone. But Ferraris are also real works of art and as such the bodies of some specimens that have made history will be exhibited: 750 Monza, which marked the beginning of the collaboration between the Cavallino and Scaglietti; 1962 250 GTO, perhaps the most legendary Ferrari; Testa Rossa Pontoon Fender and three P4s, three to plastically represent the famous arrival on parade at the 1967 24 Hours of Daytona: one of the most significant victories for the Maranello company.
The drivers on parade with “their” historic cars
In the Fanzone it will also be possible to admire the historic cars with which the drivers will greet the public during the traditional Sunday morning parade: the peculiarity, adopted for the first time in Monza, is that the drivers will be aboard the company’s cars which supplies them with the power unit. Verstappen and Perez (Red Bull), Ricciardo and Tsunoda (AlphaTauri) will ride with vintage Fords. In fact, the engines of the US company will equip the cars lined up by the well-known Austrian company of energy drinks starting from 2026.
The anthem of Mameli: Il Volo sings on the notes of the State Police musical band
The suggestive pre-competition will be characterized by a tricolor dance on the notes of the electric violin played by Andrea Casta. To sing the anthem of Mameli, a few minutes from the start, Il Volo. The trio – excellence of Italian bel canto in the world – will be accompanied by the notes of the band of the State Police. To seal the event, the now traditional overflight of the Frecce Tricolori.
