HK-listed EuroEyes buys German eye clinic
Germany-based and Hong Kong-listed EuroEyes is wholly acquiring German eye clinic FreeVis GmbH for 3.28 million euros ($3.5 million), according to a company announcement on Tuesday.
EuroEyes was established in 1993 and made its debut on the Hong Kong bourse in 2019. It says it is one of the few eye clinic groups with far-reaching geographical coverage, with operations in China, Denmark, Germany, and the UK.
Separately, EuroEyes will provide a loan to FreeVis GmbH worth 5.15 million euros ($5.5 million) for acquiring its wholly-owned subsidiary PMK, an ophthalmological private practice specialised in lens exchange surgery.
The company also has plans to strengthen its China operations and the expansion of EuroEyes in Asia, the statement said.
Macau’s ZENCE OBJECT bags seed funding
Macau-based startup ZENCE OBJECT has raised $2.5 million in seed funding from Gobi Partners GBA, according to a company statement.
Zence Object creates biodegradable cups, utensils, furniture and home decor from tea waste, discarded herbs, and bamboo through patented technology.
The deal marks the first Macau-originated company to be backed by the AEF Greater Bay Area Fund, which is managed by Gobi GBA.
The funding will primarily be used for R&D, alongside team expansion and optimising its operational workflows, per the announcement.
