New Delhi: MG Motor India Friday announced that its sales for August 2023 were at 4185 units posting a year-on-year growth of 10% over the same month in 2022. The carmaker is gearing up and building further on the current momentum for the coming festive season, the company said in a release.
The company said that it is readying the all-new ‘Black Edition’ of its Astor, India’s first SUV with AI inside, a move to further enhance quality choices for SUV enthusiasts.
MG Motor India has introduced several ‘firsts’ in India, including India’s first Internet SUV – MG Hector, India’s first Pure Electric Internet SUV – MG ZS EV, India’s first Autonomous (Level 1) Premium SUV – MG Gloster, Astor- India’s first SUV with personal AI assistant and Autonomous (Level 2) technology and MG Comet EV – The Smart Urban Electric Vehicle, the company said.
Last month the company registered retail sales of 5,012 units, which was an increase of 25% compared to 4,013 units in July 2022.
MG Motor India’s manufacturing facility in Halol, Gujarat, has an annual production capacity of 1,20,000 vehicles and 3,000 employees.
