In Munich it is becoming tangible these days how the balance of power in the car scene is shifting. Chinese manufacturers are at least as present at the IAA as the locals, and some confidently hold their press conferences in Chinese. VDA President Hildegard Müller (56) also greeted politely in Chinese at an extra congress – although there were a similar number of German and Chinese auto bosses in the audience.
