The Mercedes star on the roof of the car manufacturer’s former headquarters in Stuttgart is scheduled to be dismantled starting next week. A spokeswoman for the company said this upon request.
The site on Epplestrasse in Möhringen is no longer a company location. Most of the employees have moved to the current corporate headquarters in Untertürkheim and the campus in Stuttgart-Vaihingen.
The headquarters of the former Daimler-Benz AG in Möhringen was completed in 1989. The star has a diameter of 6.5 meters and is not suitable for any further use because it has been permanently exposed to the elements for over 30 years.
