Lithium battery recycling and optimizing carbon capture technologies will be the key areas in India for the global industrial software company, Aspen Technology Inc. AspenTech provides asset optimization software used by companies in capital-intensive industries to help them manage their operations.
In an interview with ETEnergyworld, Vikas Dhole, GM of Sustainability IBU explained how the company’s focus in India will include focus on the goal of industry penetration, from top-tier customers to startups.
“We see substantial interest in several areas. Battery recycling, especially lithium battery recycling, is a primary concern given the global rise of EVs. We’ve developed a sustainability model around the circular economy of lithium batteries and collaborate with key industry players,” said Dhole.
The USD 1 billion company is anticipating growth from green hydrogen’s transition to commercial deployment and carbon capture.
“Our aim is to simplify strategic planning for our clients, incorporating the complexities of sustainability options like carbon capture and green hydrogen, ensuring they reach their net-zero targets profitably,” he said.
The company is also working on strategizing solutions for hard to abate industries like cement and steel.
