Audi e-tron quattro: The electric SUV comes in 2018 to the dealers

Germany’s automakers are facing a feat of strength this year: they need to invest a lot of money to make their electric car announcements come true. Audi will start series production of its electric SUV e-tron this summer. Daimler wants to roll in 2019 with its electric sub-brand “EQ”, bring Porsche its power rollover “Mission E” on the road.

One year later, the Volkswagen brand wants to use the “I.D” to drive a compact electric car that can travel 500 kilometers and be priced on the conventional golf level. Starting in 2019, BMW will polish the Mini and the SUV X3 for electric power, followed by the entire model range gradually.

In recent months, Germany’s automakers have often explained how they will accelerate their electric car plans. Officially, this is the topic of all top management matters – of course, because ultimately CEOs are measured in the coming years on the success or failure of their electric car strategy. manager-magazin.de has asked which managers in the corporations are driving forward electromobility – and received very different answers.
