Stellantis: “We are outraged in view of Stellantis’ record profits”, the automotive giant will increase salaries by 4.3% in 2024

It is at this moment that the 2024 salaries of Stellantis workers are at stake. The NAO, obligatory annual negotiations, ended during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. If the increase is there, it does not satisfy the unions.

+ 4.3% for 2024, this is less than what the unions wanted, namely a requested increase of at least 5.5%. At the group’s headquarters in Poissy in Yvelines, management first proposed an overall increase of 2.3%, before gradually increasing over the rounds of discussions to 4.3%, or 1. 3 points less than last year.

A disappointing figure for the unions who demanded between 5.5 and 6.6% increase for 2024. A percentage which took into account not only inflation but also the good results of the car manufacturer: 98.4 billion euros of turnover in the first half of this year, 10.9 billion in net profit.

“We are outraged in view of Stellantis’ record profits,” reacted the CGT at the Sochaux site. “The NAO records an increase of 4.3%, but in reality it will be 3.6% for half of classes B and C, mainly workers, forklift drivers, maintenance agents” deplores Jérôme Boussard, CGT delegate of the Sochaux factory in Doubs. For the CGT, “the account is not there” especially since management forecasts inflation at 3.9% for 2024. “We are already going into the negative. It is already difficult for employees to finish the month. We are slowly widening the wage gap” believes the trade unionist.

“We remain hungry” concedes the CFE-CGC which for its part regrets that “managers will once again have no general increases. 4.3% of the payroll will be entirely devoted to individual increases with selectivity between 80% and 85%”, we can read in a press release from the union.

In February 2023, Stellantis announced a gross profit-sharing bonus of 4,300 euros for its 44,000 French employees while the group had recorded record profits in 2022.
