German premium carmaker Mercedes-Benz is planning to introduce at least 15 models this year into China, its largest market in the world.

Duan Jianjun, president and CEO of Beijing Mercedes-Benz Sales Service Co, said the company will continue its dual-approach strategy that focuses on both new energy vehicles and gasoline ones.

Of the new models to come will be the electric G-Class, the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV, and the Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 SUV.

There will be new and facelift models in the core luxury segment and the entry luxury segment as well, including the all-new CLE family and the new-generation EQA and EQB.

The Stuttgart-based company’s total deliveries in the country stood at around 765,000 units last year, similar to the figure recorded in the previous year, but sales soared of models sitting at the top of its product range.

Deliveries of Mercedes-Maybach and the G-Class grew 21 percent and 22 percent year-on-year respectively in China in 2023, said Duan.
