Trowbridge-based Platinum Motor Group has acquired the Pebley Beach dealer group for an undisclosed sum.
Pebley Beach operates Hyundai and Suzuki dealerships in Swindon and a solus Suzuki dealership in Cirencester. The businesses will be renamed Platinum Hyundai and Suzuki at some point.
Platinum already represents Hyundai in Trowbridge and Chippenham and said the addition of Swindon will provide synergies.
It also holds the franchises for Renault, Dacia, Nissan, Toyota, Skoda, KGM and Vauxhall.
The group is ranked 134 in the Motor Trader Top 200 Dealer Groups with annual turnover of £86.2m.
Jeremy Cuff, managing director, Platinum Motor Group, said: “Our initial contact with Pebley Beach started just over a year ago, when owner and managing director Dominic Threlfall was considering his future and retirement.
“The Pebley Beach business is long established in the Swindon and Cirencester market areas. With Dom’s decision to retire, it is now our task to ensure that the good work and reputation of the business is maintained into the future.”

The deal was brokered on behalf of Pebley Beach by Fraser Brown of the automotive training and consultancy MotorVise.
