John Clark Motor Group has acquired the former Peter Vardy CARZ premises in Dundee for an undisclosed sum.
John Clark, headed up by group MD Chris Clark (pictured) told The Courier it did not currently have details of the brands going into the site or when it would open.
It said the premises, which thousands of motorists on the Kingsway pass every day, will become a “multi-franchise” business.
Peter Vardy Group announced the closure of its CARZ used car supermarkets in Dundee and Glasgow in August last year.
The dealer group, ranked 31 in the Motor Trader Top 200 Dealer Groups with £560.7m turnover, said the move came about as a result of post-COVID used car supply shortages. Successive years of declining new car sales have impacted used car supplies in the UK.
The company retains its CARZ supermarkets in Aberdeen, Edinburghm Kirkcaldy, Motherwell, Perth and Grangemouth.
Peter Vardy also announced at the time that it had been appointed to represent MG, with the first two sites to open this month in Kirkcaldy and Edinburgh.
Just six months later, John Clark has confirmed it has purchased the Dunsinane Industrial Estate showroom.
