In November 2017 Elon Musk (52) once again demonstrated his show talent: the new roadster shot out of the trailer during the presentation at an airfield in Hawthorne, California Tesla-Semi-trailer out. Musk announced at the time that the Roadster would come onto the market in 2020.
Next year, Tesla really wants to bring its electric sports car onto the market in 2025. At least that’s what Musk announced. “Tonight we radically increased the design goals for the new Tesla Roadster,” Musk said in a post on X, adding that the Roadster’s production design is expected to be completed and unveiled by the end of this year. According to Musk, it could be “the most stunning product demo ever.”
Musk initially pushed the market launch of the Roadster to 2021 and then postponed it to 2023 – citing bottlenecks in the supply chain. At the 2017 presentation, Musk announced that the Roadster would accelerate from zero to 60 miles per hour (96 km/h) in 1.9 seconds. Even at highway speeds, the range should reach 1000 kilometers. Tesla stated the top speed was more than 250 miles per hour (402 km/h).
