The Jaguar Group of the Year was won by Lloyd Motor Group, which has dealerships across Cumbria, Lancashire, Newcastle upon Tyne, North Yorkshire and Scotland. Lloyd Carlisle won the Jaguar Retailer of the Year.
The winners were announced at an event for Jaguar and Land Rover dealers where management outlined the Reimagine Together strategy for the brands, including the decision to revert to a franchised rather than agency model.
The Land Rover Group of the Year was Pentland and Land Rover Retailer of the Year Pentland Perth. The Pentland team took positions 1, 2 & 3 for Land Rover, which Patrick McGillycuddy (pictured) managing director at JLR UK described as an incredible performance.
“Last Friday we had the pleasure of updating our retail partners on our strategy as we Reimagine Together brand led modern luxury experiences for our clients.
“It was an honour to share a stage with the team especially our new UK brand directors – each bringing their brand to life as we ensure Range Rover, Defender, Discovery and Jaguar flourish with their own unique history, stories, products, experiences and clients.
In February JLR unveiled a new “refined” franchised model with “key adaptions” marking a departure from its previously stated intention to switch to pure play agency in 2024.
The model was announced ahead of the conference. Dealers welcomed the fact that their views had been taken into account and said the franchised model was “robust” and provided “stability” for all concerned.
Robert Forrester, CEO, Vertu Motors, said: “The news that the franchise model will be retained is a decision that was made in consultation with the investor community and provides the stability to progress with delivering innovative services to our clients without distraction. On this basis, we welcome the news.”
“Sytner Group is convinced that the model JLR has created will provide a genuine modern luxury experience for our clients and look forward to many years of continued mutual success.”
