Family run Read Motor Group has acquired the TL Darby Volkswagen dealership for an undisclosed sum.
The dealership will convert to Hyundai while retaining the Volkswagen aftersales side of the business as an authorised repairer.
Read Motor Group was formed in the 1980s by owner Mike Read. It is based in Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Norfolk, representing Alfa Romeo, Hyundai, Jeep, MG and Suzuki.
It was voted Hyundai National Retailer Group of the Year for 2023, as well as achieving Number one Retailer Group for Customer Focus for the second year running.
TL Darby has been a recognisable name and family-run business in the local area for over 50 years, and as such, owner Richard Darby was keen to be handing over the reins to a fellow family-run business owner.
