Japan’s matsuri technologies and S Korean pizza chain GOPIZZA have secured fresh funding.
matsuri raises $8.65m Series D round
Japan’s matsuri Technologies Inc, the software-driven provider of StayX, a solution that converts single-use rooms into multiple-use spaces, has raised $8.65 million in a Series D round, according to an announcement.
Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia and India, and other prominent Japanese investors joined the funding round along with existing investors.
The company plans to use the proceeds to enhance its software offerings, increase the number of facilities and invest in talent. matsuri also plans to use the capital for its overseas expansion plans.
Established in August 2016 by CEO and founder Keita Yoshida, matsuri aims to maximise the value of unused space as it seeks to transform a single space to accommodate a variety of uses.
GOPIZZA raises $10m from Thailand’s CP ALL
Korean pizza brand GOPIZZA has raised $10 million from CP ALL, the core distribution affiliate of Thailand’s CP Group (Charoen Pokphand Group), BusinessKorea reported.
This development comes two years after the company raised $25 million in a Series C funding round co-led by GS Ventures, CJ Investment, Mirae Asset Securities, NCORE Ventures, Woori Bank, Capstone Partners, Big Basin Capital, DS Asset Management, and Pureun Investment.
The fresh round brings its total funding to over $46 million. GOPIZZA has over 450 stores in seven countries.
