Prasad Phansalkar, the Director of Dealer Network Development at Stellantis, has submitted his resignation, marking the end of his tenure at the automotive conglomerate, sources aware of the matter told ETAuto.
Known for his significant role in founding Citroen in India, Phansalkar has been an important figure in the Indian automotive industry for decades. During his time at Stellantis, Phansalkar led critical initiatives aimed at expanding and enhancing the dealer network for both Jeep and Citroen brands in India.
His achievements include establishing greenfield dealer networks, overseeing the implementation of EV fast charging infrastructure, and introducing digital innovations to elevate Citroen India’s presence in the digital automotive landscape.
Prior to joining Stellantis, Phansalkar held prominent positions at BMW, Volkswagen, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Mercedes-Benz, showcasing his deep-rooted expertise in dealer development and strategic management within the automotive sector.
As the automotive industry continues to evolve with the rise of electric vehicles and digital transformation, Phansalkar’s contributions have been pivotal in positioning Stellantis brands competitively in the Indian market.
Phansalkar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Cusrow Wadia Institute of Technology, and a Diploma in Materials Management from Symbiosis International University.
Stellantis has yet to announce Phansalkar’s replacement.
