The election campaign of US presidential candidate Donald Trump (78) has now mainly been outsourced in the crucial states to the political action committee “America Pac”, which is run by Tesla-Boss Elon Musk (53) is financed. This is what research by the British “Guardians”
result. The group wants to mobilize Trump supporters in rural areas that don’t typically vote.
America Pac employs between 300 and 400 paid part-time employees in each of the seven battleground states. Ahead of the election, which takes place in six weeks, staffers are knocking on the doors of likely Trump voters. The action committee is the only organization in the entire US election campaign that has set the goal of making a total of three home visits in all battleground states.
Numerous splinter movements active
In addition to American Pac, there are numerous other movements trying to win votes for Trump. Turning Point Action, led by right-wing activist Charlie Kirk, is also active in key states. However, the organization only has a presence in Arizona, Wisconsin and two specific counties in Michigan and Nevada.
America Pac does most of the door-knocking and Trump voter canvassing compared to the other movements. The Trump campaign is therefore highly dependent on Musk’s organization. If America Pac gets into trouble, it has little local support.
The Trump campaign denies being dependent on America Pac and said it has more than 27,000 volunteers working as so-called “Trump 47 Captains.” “Team Trump has hundreds of staff and offices mobilizing hundreds of thousands of volunteers across the country,” said Karoline Leavitt, a spokeswoman for Trump.
However, an insider at America Pac expressed skepticism to the Guardian about the reach of the Trump 47 captains. Accordingly, addressing voters with low turnout in rural areas is no substitute for knocking on doors in suburbs and cities.
Trump loses several days of election advertising because of America Pac
Last week, America Pac fired a company that was supposed to do door-knocking and canvassing in Arizona and Nevada. The move was detrimental to Trump because it meant America Pac lost several days of campaign advertising and some of the approximately 300 employees it had hired in the states.
The successor to the fired company is now to be the US company Blitz Canvassing, which is already active for America Pac in North Carolina and Michigan. To date, America Pac has paid Blitz about $3.3 million, campaign finance filings show. However, Blitz is controversial in Trump world because the company is a subsidiary of GP3. GP3 is owned by the political consultants who run America Pac. This has led to accusations that America Pac’s leadership would now benefit doubly.
With Amercian Pac, however, the tide could still turn for Trump after he recently lost in poll numbers. With Elon Musk as his big supporter
Trump has a zealous fighter at his side who is campaigning enormously financially and on social platforms to bring him back to the White House. Musk even recently offered Trump the chance to work in his cabinet for a second term. The tech billionaire even had a conversation with Trump on his news platform X, during which they both showered each other with compliments.
