The Stuttgart public prosecutor’s office is investigating former board members and employees of the mobile home manufacturer Knaus Tabbert. You are suspected of fraud and criminal advertising. This involves exceeding the technically permissible total weight for certain vehicles in the weight class up to 3.5 tons, as a spokeswoman for the public prosecutor’s office says.
As part of these investigations and a fine proceedings against Knaus Tabbert, prosecutors and emergency services from the Baden-Württemberg State Criminal Police Office searched “an object in Bavaria” on Wednesday and seized documents, as the spokeswoman for the public prosecutor’s office said. She does not want to comment on the number of suspects or the former board members.
The company in Jandelsbrunn, Lower Bavaria, said it had already made appropriate financial provisions in its balance sheet. The auditor Alvarez & Marsal is investigating the events internally and will help analyze the extent and impact and improve protection against future incidents. The new management is working hard to realign the company. The company is currently not answering questions about the number of vehicles affected, possible dangers for vehicle owners or a recall.
Knaus Tabbert is currently struggling with a serious sales crisis. Production at the company headquarters and in a Hungarian factory is currently at a standstill due to a lack of demand. Production is still ongoing at two other locations.
