“The negative development of production in December is particularly due to the decline in the automotive industry,” says the message. Here the Federal Office reported a burglary by 10 percent for the previous month. A decline in production in machine maintenance and assembly also had a negative effect. On the other hand, the increase in the Pharmaceutical industry affected, with an increase of 11.6 percent.
However, a surprisingly strong order intake in the industrial companies caused a bright spot. As the Federal Office reported the day before, almost 7 percent more orders received the companies in December. In some economists, this aroused hope for stabilization in an area of the German economy, which actually formed an important pillar of economic development.
