“The negative development of production in December is particularly due to the decline in the automotive industry,” says the message. Here the Federal Office reported a burglary by 10 percent for the previous month. A decline in production in machine maintenance and assembly also had a negative effect. On the other hand, the increase in the Pharmaceutical industry affected, with an increase of 11.6 percent.

However, a surprisingly strong order intake in the industrial companies caused a bright spot. As the Federal Office reported the day before, almost 7 percent more orders received the companies in December. In some economists, this aroused hope for stabilization in an area of ​​the German economy, which actually formed an important pillar of economic development.
