German bank-CEO Christian Sewing (54) can expect almost 10 million euros for the past year. The Supervisory Board granted him a total remuneration of 9.75 million euros, as can be seen from the annual report of the money house published on Thursday. That would be a million more than in 2023. How high his long-term bonus actually turn out is only determined in two years. The basis is the results of the bank from 2024 to 2026.

68.1 million euros for ten board members

So far, the long -term performance allowances have been based on the results of the past three years. If Sewing fulfills the goals 100 percent, with 3.56 million euros they would make up a good third of its total remuneration for 2024. In 2023, however, the corresponding quota for the total board was only 77.5 percent. According to the new remuneration system, the bank will probably cost its ten board members for a total of 68.1 million euros for 2024. In 2023 it was 58.3 million according to the old system.

The improved operational business is also reflected in the other Deutsche Bank employees in the salaries. The salary amount rose to 11.1 (10.3) billion euros, whereby the bonuses increased particularly strongly to 2.5 (2.0) billion. 647 of the almost 90,000 employees of the largest Deutsche Bank earned more than one million euros in the past year, 142 more than 2023.

The leader came up with an amount between 17 million and 18 million euros, so almost twice the CEO. A total of four employees have earned more than their Sewing, all of them no members of the board. The Deutsche Bank did not want to answer who were these top earners when asked by Manager Magazine.
