Motor Range buys Manchester Car Shop outlet from Sytner

Liverpool based used car supermarket Motor Range has bought the ex-Carshop branded store in Manchester from Sytner.

The latest accounts filed at Companies see Motor Outlet, trading as Motor Range, with pre-tax profits of £691.9k in the year to August 2023 on turnover of £95.6m.

“I’m pleased to announce that Motor Range has acquired Carshop Manchester (Sytner) as of today and will now operate two sites in the northwest, said Motor Range sales manager Shaun Lane, posting on LinkedIn.

“After months of hard work we welcome the current team of staff to the Motor Range family and we’re all excited to take this operation to the next level.”

The disposal of the Car Shop store is part of Sytner’s strategy. In May last year Sytner announced it was overhauling its Carshop business looking at rebranding of the stores to become Sytner Select Approved Used Cars superstores.

It said at the one it was talking to an unnamed party with a view to calling some of the Carshop stores as a going concern and shutting one outlet.
