Fabrice Cambolive, Renault brand CEO, has announced that the Renault Twingo will join the UK’s electric line-up.
The launch of the Renault 5 at Future Stores on Oxford Street turned heads in March. With this new announcement, visitors to UK Renault dealerships will eventually be able to also meet the Renault Twingo.
In a LinkedIn post, Cambolive added: “It’s clear we have a lot to learn from Chinese competitors – most notably, speed and innovation.
“Renault is co-engineering new Twingo with partners in China, taking less than 2 years from concept to production – that’s a record! Speed is a main factor to reduce the production cost of EVs.”
A LinkedIn post from Adam Wood, MD at Renault UK, read: “At Renault, we’re seizing those opportunities with a bold ‘two leg’ approach to electrified powertrains – 100% electric and Full Hybrid – built into cars that appeal to hearts and heads in equal measure.
