Elon Musk (53) has no plans to clear the CEO post of the electric car manufacturer Tesla. During a video appearance on Tuesday at the Qatar Economic Forum in Doha, he said “yes” when asked whether he would be Tesla boss in five years. Musk also answered the demand whether he was safe: “Well, no, I could die.”
At the same time, he confirmed that he wanted to have more Tesla shares so that critical investors could not push him out of work.
Musk, whose assets leads the Bloomberg Billionaires Index with $ 375.5 billion, has been TESLA CEO since 2008. His right-political views and his role as President Donald Trump (78) in the US government had contributed to the decline in Tesla processes in recent months.
Musk now played down the decline: the sales are weak in Europe and strongly elsewhere. Tesla also won customers on the right side of the political spectrum.
A few weeks ago, the “Wall Street Journal” reported that members of the Tesla Board of Directors had contacted the headhunter companies to initiate the search for a new boss. Tesla rejected that there had been a push of the Board of Directors.
Musk also said that he would probably spend less money on political purposes in the future. “I think I did enough,” he said on the grounds. Musk donated more than $ 250 million for Trump’s election campaign last year and at times became a close confidante of the US President.
If he will see a reason to spend money on politics in the future, he will do this again, added Musk. “At the moment I see no reason.”
