Enhanced Convenience Features
A standout feature is the integrated cruise control system, which not only reduces rider fatigue during long journeys but actively increases the scooter’s range by maintaining optimal speed consistency. The Easy Charge system simplifies the charging process, making electric vehicle ownership more accessible for first-time EV buyers. Kinetic is backing the DX Electric with an industry-leading warranty package of 9 years or 1 lakh kilometers, demonstrating confidence in the scooter’s build quality and long-term reliability.
The electric DX will be available in five color options, allowing riders to choose a variant that matches their personal style preferences. This comprehensive warranty coverage addresses one of the primary concerns potential electric vehicle buyers have about long-term ownership costs and component durability, potentially making the DX Electric an attractive proposition in the competitive electric scooter market.
The original Kinetic DX, launched in the early 1990s, was known for its simplicity, ease of use, and affordability. It became a common sight on Indian roads, especially popular among families and women riders for its gearless operation and compact frame. Its legacy was marked by a solid build and reliable performance in an era when scooters were transitioning from geared models to more user-friendly formats.
With this electric relaunch, Kinetic is tapping into that legacy while appealing to the new generation of environmentally conscious riders. The DX Electric will compete in India’s rapidly growing electric scooter market, which has seen a surge in demand thanks to rising fuel prices, state incentives, and improved charging infrastructure.
With its combination of familiar branding, practical range, and modern electric drivetrain, the Kinetic DX Electric is positioned to compete in the increasingly crowded electric scooter segment. The 116km range places it among the higher-performing options in the market, while the three riding modes offer versatility that could appeal to a broad range of consumers.
At the heart of the Kinetic DX Electric lies a sophisticated LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery system coupled with a 60V efficient drivetrain architecture. The scooter delivers peak power output of 4.8kW, providing strong acceleration and hill-climbing capability that traditional petrol scooters struggle to match. The electric powertrain incorporates several rider-assistance features that enhance both safety and efficiency.
