The Franconian car supplier Schaeffler the weak industry economy continues to feel. In the first half of the year, sales fell by almost 5 percent to 11.85 billion euros, as the company announced on Wednesday in Herzogenaurach. The result before interest, taxes and special effects (EBIT) gave 9 percent to 482 million euros.
E-mobility further in deep red numbers
However, Schaeffler gives hope the attractive demand in the shop with electric car parts, where sales attracted 10 percent. The E-Mobility division writes even deep red numbers, although the loss decreased significantly. In the previous year’s figures, the drive subsidiary Vitesco, which Schaeffler had taken over in 2024, was fully included.
“Despite the demanding environment and the stresses from the integration of Vitsco and the further transformation of the Schaeffler group, we stick to our outlook,” said CEO Klaus Rosenfeld (59).
Schaeffler expects sales of 23 to 25 billion euros and an operational return on sales (EBIT margin) of 3 to 5 percent for the current year. In the first half of the year, the EBIT margin was 4.1 (4.3) percent.
Last autumn Rosenfeld completed the takeover of the competitor Vitesco. The start continued: 5.9 billion euros in sales in the first three months, which was 2.9 percent less than in the same period last year. For this purpose, the Vitesco business was growing the promising E-Mobility area to 1.17 billion euros.
