Jitendra New EV Tech Pvt. Ltd. (JNEVTPL), operating under the brand name Jitendra Electric Vehicles, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MET’s Institute of Engineering (IOE), located in Bhujbal Knowledge City, Adgaon, Nashik. The agreement, signed on August 5, 2025, aims to strengthen collaboration between academia and the electric vehicle industry.
The MoU was signed during a ceremony held at the MET’s IOE campus. Dr. V.P. Wani, Principal of MET’s Institute of Engineering, represented the institute, while Tejas Merchant from the Research & Development department of JNEVTPL signed on behalf of the company. The event was attended by Dr. S.D. Kalpande, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Prof. Dr. Sachin Dahake, other departmental faculty members, and JNEVTPL representatives including Satish Kulkarni and Ganesh Jadhav.
The partnership will focus on advancing electric mobility through joint initiatives in research, product development, technical consultancy, and student training. Under the agreement, MET’s IOE will provide expert consultancy to support improvements in productivity, resolve manufacturing and field-related issues, and implement advanced engineering practices at JNEVTPL.
The institute will also offer technical support for the development of electric vehicle products, including electric scooters, e-rickshaws, electric bikes, and other electric mobility solutions. In return, students from MET’s IOE will gain valuable industrial exposure through site visits, internships, and participation in live projects related to EV technologies and manufacturing processes.
Dr. V.P. Wani, Principal of MET’s Institute of Engineering, stated that the collaboration is expected to help bridge the gap between theoretical education and practical application, allowing students to engage with emerging technologies in the EV sector and improve their career readiness.
Tejas Merchant, representing JNEVTPL, highlighted that the partnership goes beyond knowledge sharing and is aimed at building a pipeline of skilled engineers capable of contributing to innovation and real-time problem-solving in the electric vehicle industry. He noted that the MoU will lay the foundation for long-term cooperation in research, product development, and workforce development.
