Nissan Motor India has launched a 10-Year Extended Warranty Plan for the New Nissan Magnite, marking the first such offering in the B-SUV segment in India. The announcement comes shortly after the vehicle received a 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP (GNCAP) for overall passenger protection, including a perfect 5-star score for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), reinforcing its position as one of the safest compact SUVs in the country.
The extended warranty provides coverage for up to 10 years or 200,000 kilometers—whichever comes first—at a cost of approximately 22 paise per kilometer or INR 12 per day, making it one of the most competitively priced long-term protection plans in the Indian automotive market.
The New Nissan Magnite is delivered with a standard 3-year or 100,000-kilometer warranty, and customers can now extend this coverage through a range of flexible options. These include an extended plan of 3+7 years for a full decade of protection, as well as shorter extensions such as 3+4, 3+3, 3+2, and 3+1 years, allowing buyers to choose a plan that suits their ownership expectations and usage patterns.
The 3+7 year option is the longest warranty of its kind in the B-SUV category. Comprehensive coverage under the extended warranty includes mechanical and electrical components for the first seven years after the standard warranty expires. Engine and transmission components continue to be covered during the 8th, 9th, and 10th years, offering long-term peace of mind to owners.
This 10-Year Extended Warranty Plan is available exclusively for the New Nissan Magnite models launched from October 2024 onward, which come with the 3-year standard warranty. It is not applicable to earlier versions of the Magnite that were sold with a 2-year warranty prior to October 2024. The plan can be purchased at the time of vehicle acquisition or at any point during the standard warranty period, provided the vehicle has not already been enrolled in another extended warranty program.
The extended warranty becomes active immediately upon the expiry of the original 3-year manufacturer warranty and is valid across all Nissan-authorized service centers in India. It allows for cashless repairs with no limit on the number or value of claims, and all repairs are carried out using genuine Nissan spare parts to ensure consistent quality and reliability.
To improve accessibility, the extended warranty can be financed through Nissan Finance at the time of vehicle purchase, enabling customers to include the cost in their overall vehicle financing plan for a seamless ownership experience.
The New Nissan Magnite’s 5-star GNCAP rating reflects its strong safety credentials. Built on the enhanced CMF-A+ platform, the vehicle features a body structure composed of over 67% high-tensile steel (above 440 MPa) and comes equipped with more than 55 standard safety features. These include six airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Brake Assist, and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). The safety performance has positioned the Magnite among the safest B-SUVs not only in India but also in markets such as South Africa.
In addition to the warranty launch, Nissan recently introduced the Magnite KURO Special Edition—a premium, black-themed variant that emphasizes bold design and sophisticated styling. Priced from INR 8.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the KURO edition features a fully blacked-out exterior, dark interior accents, and exclusive design elements inspired by Japanese aesthetics.
The New Nissan Magnite stands out in the competitive compact SUV segment with its bold design, segment-first or segment-best features exceeding 20 in number, and growing global presence. It is now available in over 65 countries, catering to both right-hand and left-hand drive markets.
