REFINED PLAYER: Mahindra Vision X in Pictures

The Mahindra Vision X is a concept SUV unveiled by Mahindra & Mahindra on August 15, 2025, at their Freedom NU event in Mumbai, alongside the Vision S, Vision T, and Vision SXT concepts.

Design and Positioning: The Vision X is a sleek, futuristic SUV with a bold, aerodynamic design that sets it apart from Mahindra’s more rugged offerings. It features sharp, angular lines, a coupe-like roofline, and a prominent front fascia with slim LED headlights and a closed-off grille, hinting at its electric focus. Its sporty yet sophisticated aesthetic positions it as a premium, urban-centric SUV, possibly a new flagship electric model in Mahindra’s lineup.

Platform: Built on Mahindra’s new NU.IQ platform (also referred to as the New Flexible Architecture), this modular platform supports multiple powertrains, including petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric options. The Vision X leverages the platform’s flexibility for a low center of gravity, enhanced handling, and a wheelbase tailored for spacious interiors, making it suitable for both city driving and long-distance cruising.

Electric Focus: The Vision X is strongly positioned as an electric vehicle (EV), with design elements like a sealed grille and aerodynamic contours optimized for efficiency. It is expected to feature a high-performance electric powertrain, potentially with dual motors for all-wheel-drive (AWD) capability, aligning with Mahindra’s push toward premium electric mobility.

Features and Interior: While specific interior details are scarce, the Vision X is anticipated to offer a luxurious, tech-forward cabin. Expect a large touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, Level-2+ ADAS, and advanced connectivity features like over-the-air updates. The NU.IQ platform supports a spacious interior with a flat floor design and ample legroom, enhancing passenger comfort.

Launch Timeline: As a near-production concept, the Vision X is projected to enter production by 2027, potentially as a premium electric SUV in Mahindra’s lineup, with a price point likely above Rs 25 lakh.

The Vision X appears to be Mahindra’s bid to compete in the premium electric SUV segment, targeting those who want something less understated than its BE6 and XUV 9e models, and sporting a more refined look.
