Valvoline Cummins Private Limited (Valvoline Cummins), a manufacturer and marketer of automotive lubricants, has entered into a strategic collaboration with Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Mahindra), a leading Indian automaker known for its SUVs and utility vehicles.
Under the agreement, Valvoline Cummins will supply a majority of the aftermarket lubricant requirements for Mahindra across India. The partnership will see the distribution of engine oils, transmission fluids, axle oils, and other lubricants—marketed under the Mahindra Maximile brand—through Mahindra’s authorized dealership network and Bazar spare parts outlets, managed by the company’s spares business unit.
This collaboration builds on a long-standing relationship between the two companies, with Valvoline Cummins having served as a lubricants supplier to Mahindra’s domestic aftermarket for over two decades. The new four-year agreement expands the scope of their engagement, focusing on improved product availability, performance, and service support.
Valvoline Cummins will tailor its lubricant offerings for Mahindra’s range of passenger vehicles, SUVs, and pickup trucks, with dedicated support in the North, West, and East regions of India. The products will be developed to meet the operational demands of Mahindra’s vehicle lineup, emphasizing performance and reliability.
As part of the sustainability initiatives under the partnership, Valvoline Cummins will introduce packaging made from Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) materials in its supply chain to Mahindra. The move aligns with both companies’ environmental goals and commitments to sustainable business practices.
Sandeep Kalia, Managing Director of Valvoline Cummins Private Limited, stated that the expanded collaboration reflects confidence in the company’s capabilities in innovation, service delivery, and customer focus. “Our relationship with Mahindra has grown over the years, and this milestone underscores our shared commitment to quality and growth in the automotive aftermarket,” he said.
Michael Dreyer, Senior Vice President and General Manager, APAC, at Valvoline Global Operations, noted that the partnership supports Mahindra’s broader operational and performance objectives. “This agreement brings together two established players in the automotive space, with aligned priorities around innovation, performance, and sustainability. We aim to enhance value for customers and support Mahindra’s growth, both in India and globally,” he added.
The collaboration is expected to strengthen supply chain efficiency and improve access to genuine lubricants for Mahindra vehicle owners, while reinforcing the companies’ focus on environmental responsibility and long-term value creation.
