MAHLE Group has announced its entry into the electric vehicle aftermarket with high-voltage charging technologies, marking a significant expansion of the company’s service offerings. The automotive supplier will become the first to provide OEM-quality input filters and on-board chargers specifically designed for aftermarket applications.
The new product line responds to the growing global registration of electric vehicles and the corresponding increase in maintenance and repair requirements at automotive workshops. Input filters will become available starting October 2025, followed by on-board chargers at year-end through parts wholesalers serving automotive repair facilities.
Initial availability will cover models from Renault, Peugeot, Citroën, DS, and Opel, with additional power electronics and high-voltage components planned for release throughout 2026. Both product categories derive directly from MAHLE’s original equipment manufacturing operations and maintain equivalent quality standards.
“By consistently expanding our product range for electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids, we are already positioning ourselves for our workshop partners in this growing market segment,” stated Dr. Armin Messerer, Director of Product Management and Purchasing at MAHLE Lifecycle and Mobility.
The components serve critical functions in electric vehicle operation. Input filters protect high-voltage batteries and power electronics from voltage spikes and unwanted signals during charging processes. On-board chargers convert alternating current from power grids into direct current for battery storage.
MAHLE notes that high-voltage components experience wear from aging, vibration, moisture penetration, and overheating, similar to other electrical systems. This degradation pattern indicates growing importance for the spare parts and service sector as electric vehicle fleets mature.
The company will showcase its expanded electric mobility services at IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich, running September 9-14. The exhibition will feature MAHLE’s TechPRO® 2 diagnostic tool with artificial intelligence functionality and the E-HEALTH-Charge battery diagnostic solution alongside the new charging components.
The aftermarket expansion leverages MAHLE’s established position in original equipment manufacturing for electric vehicle drive systems, charging infrastructure, and thermal management technologies. The company expects workshop operators and end customers to benefit from this direct transfer of OEM expertise into aftermarket applications.
