BharatBenz Opens New Dealership in Jammu to Expand Regional Presence

The new facility, operated by PPS Trucking, is located at Kartholi Village, Birpur, on National Highway 44, which connects Delhi, Jammu, and Srinagar. The dealership is positioned to serve commercial vehicle operators traveling between major cities including Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Delhi, and parts of Himachal Pradesh.

The facility’s coverage area includes the districts of Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Udhampur, Rajouri, Reasi, Ramban, and Kishtwar. The location targets a region experiencing significant infrastructure development activity, including projects managed by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO).

“The inauguration of our new dealership in Jammu underlines BharatBenz’s commitment to expand its footprint in India’s high-growth regions,” said Rajiv Chaturvedi, President and Chief Business Officer of Daimler India Commercial Vehicles. He noted the strategic importance of Jammu & Kashmir for infrastructure projects and transport demand.

The PPS Trucking facility spans 22,000 square feet and includes eight service bays with capacity to service over 2,700 vehicles annually. The workshop features diagnostic systems, special tools, and wheel alignment equipment. The facility employs 35 technicians and provides 24-hour roadside assistance through two mobile service vans.

Rajiv Sanghvi, Managing Director of PPS Trucking, said the Jammu facility represents the seventh state in the company’s BharatBenz network, bringing their total touchpoints to 59 locations across multiple states.

The dealership opening comes amid increased commercial vehicle demand in the region, driven by infrastructure development, construction projects, and agricultural produce transportation needs. The facility will offer sales, maintenance, and repair services for BharatBenz trucks and buses, including preventive maintenance programs and express service options.

DICV, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Daimler Truck AG, operates from a manufacturing facility in Oragadam near Chennai and produces commercial vehicles ranging from 10 to 55 tons. The company exports products to more than 60 markets globally and represents an investment of over ₹9,560 crores in India.

PPS Trucking is part of an automobile conglomerate with over 75 years of experience, operating more than 720 touchpoints across 18 states. The group employs over 18,000 professionals and represents 18 automotive brands across passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and construction equipment segments.

The Jammu dealership expansion reflects BharatBenz’s strategy to strengthen its presence in regions with growing infrastructure and transportation needs, particularly areas served by government agencies and tourist operations.
