Mercedes-Benz Opens New Luxury Showroom and Service Facility in Kanpur

Mercedes-Benz India has inaugurated its first luxury automotive showroom and service facility in Kanpur, marking the company’s expansion into Uttar Pradesh’s emerging markets. The new Prime Star facility includes a 3,700 square foot showroom and a 26,000 square foot service center.

The showroom features an exclusive lounge for ultra-luxury vehicles including the S-Class and Mercedes-Maybach, along with a private delivery bay and digital consultation areas. Located in Kanpur’s automotive district, the facility aims to serve luxury car enthusiasts from the city and surrounding business regions.

“Kanpur is an important market for Mercedes-Benz, driven by rapid industrial growth combined with the soaring aspiration of affluent customers in the city,” said Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India. The company noted growing demand for luxury vehicles in the region.

The service facility, situated on National Highway 19, includes 19 service bays and offers a 60-minute express service option. A key feature is the installation of two 180KW ultra-fast EV chargers, available to all electric vehicle owners in the city.

This inauguration is part of Mercedes-Benz’s broader expansion strategy in India. The company has opened 11 new luxury touchpoints this year and plans to inaugurate 12 more before year-end. Mercedes-Benz now operates over 140 touchpoints across 50+ Indian cities.

Prime Star is owned by investor Harshit Bajaj, who previously opened a Mercedes-Benz facility in Agra. The Kanpur facility represents Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to bringing luxury automotive experiences to emerging markets beyond major metropolitan areas.

Mercedes-Benz already maintains a presence in Uttar Pradesh through facilities in Agra, Faridabad, Lucknow, Ghaziabad, and Noida. The Kanpur facility is expected to also serve customers from nearby cities including Varanasi.

The new facility reflects Mercedes-Benz’s global retail standards, incorporating contemporary design elements and advanced digital solutions for customer consultations. The company continues to pursue its “Go to Customer” strategy, targeting affluent consumers in developing luxury markets across India.
