Isa Logistics has announced a strategic electric vehicle integration program designed to align its operations with India’s accelerating transition toward sustainable commercial transport.
The initiative comes as India’s commercial electric vehicle market is forecast to expand at a compound annual growth rate exceeding 40 percent through 2030, supported by policy reforms and technological advancements in battery systems.
Recent amendments to Goods and Services Tax structures have reduced levies on electric vehicles and related components, while the FAME II (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles) incentive scheme continues to subsidize fleet electrification. India’s public charging infrastructure has grown to more than 2,500 stations nationwide, addressing previous concerns about operational feasibility for commercial fleets.
Isa Logistics operates a fleet comprising 126 company-owned trailers and over 50 units through aggregator partnerships. The company’s transport division uses real-time tracking systems to manage cargo movements across diverse routes.
“Integrating EVs into our fleet is not only a step towards environmental responsibility but also a strategic business decision that ensures efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and a sustainable future for our operations,” said Suresh Suvarna K, Director of Transport at Isa Logistics.
The company cited operational cost reductions as a key factor in the decision. Electric vehicles can reduce fuel expenditure by up to 60 percent compared to diesel alternatives, with lower maintenance requirements due to simplified mechanical systems and regenerative braking technology. The shift is also expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 1.5 kilograms per kilometer traveled.
Isa Logistics plans a phased deployment beginning with electric light-duty vans and last-mile delivery vehicles. The company stated it would coordinate the rollout with charging infrastructure availability and route optimization studies.
Suvarna indicated that future plans include exploring artificial intelligence-driven route planning and partnerships with charging network operators to support expanded electric fleet operations.
