Browns of Richmond acquires Richmond Motor Services

Browns of Richmond has acquired Richmond Motor Services (RMS) following the retirement of owner, Andy Townson.

RMS has operated for more than 40 years, with Townson leading the business for the last 19. Key members of the RMS staff have transferred to Browns and specialist equipment and expertise will also move across.

Tim Roelich, Director of Browns of Richmond, said: “We are delighted to be taking over the wonderful work done by Andy and the team at RMS. Their business has been going for over 40 years, and we hope to be able to provide an outstanding service to the many customers that Andy and his team have looked after for so long. We’re just 100 yards up the road from the RMS site and hope to welcome many new faces to the Browns family.

“I have very much enjoyed owning and running a business in the community of Richmond, and I will miss the many customers and friends, but above all, I will miss the team here at Richmond Motor Services. It’s been a hard decision, but due to family circumstances, I’ve decided it’s the right thing to do at this time.”

The move comes just over a year after Browns opened on the town’s Gallowfields Trading Estate, where it offers quality used car sales,  including electric vehicles, together with servicing, repairs, and MOTs.
