A short fifth of the suppliers remains with the previous investment planning, hardly anyone is planning an increase.
US tariffs are the central concern
The US tariffs on industrial products are a central concern for companies. More than half of them stated that they were affected or severely affected.
“The Federal Government and the EU Commission have to set clear priorities in favor of the international competitiveness of the business location,” said VDA President Hildegard Müller (58). “The industrial location must be at the top of the agenda.”
Most companies don’t expect that it will get better quickly. Only every fifth company expects the situation better. Almost 60 percent do not change, 18 percent of a deterioration.
The VDA’s industry survey took part between the 1st and September 22, 158 companies from the supply industry.
