Skoda Octavia RS bookings open ahead of October 17 launch

Skoda has officially opened bookings for the much-anticipated Octavia RS in India ahead of its price reveal on October 17, 2025. Interested buyers can reserve one through the brand’s official website for a token amount of Rs 2.50 lakh. However, only 100 units have been earmarked for India, all arriving as full imports (CBUs).

The Octavia RS makes a comeback after more than five years, this time in its fourth-generation avatar that has already received a mid-life facelift. Under the hood sits a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol TSI engine producing 265hp and 370Nm, making it the most powerful Octavia RS ever sold here. The same one is seen under the hood of the Kodiaq RS and Volkswagen Golf GTI overseas. Power is sent to the front wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch (DSG) gearbox, enabling a 0–100kph sprint in 6.4 seconds and a top speed electronically capped at 250kph.

In India, the Octavia RS will be available in five colour options — Mamba Green, Magic Black, Candy White, Race Blue and Velvet Red — and will sit on 19-inch alloy wheels. Exterior highlights include a blacked-out grille with the RS badge, a subtle boot-lid spoiler, and darkened exhaust tips.

Inside, the cabin stays true to its sporty DNA with an all-black theme featuring suede and leatherette upholstery, red contrast stitching, and piano-black inserts. Equipment levels are generous — the RS packs LED Matrix headlamps, front sports seats with heating, power adjustment and massage function, ambient lighting, a 10.25-inch digital cockpit, 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 11-speaker Skoda Canton audio, wireless charger, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a head-up display. Safety and convenience are bolstered by 10 airbags, ADAS functions, 360-degree camera, 3-zone climate control, and a powered tailgate.

The Skoda Octavia RS is expected to be priced between Rs 50 lakh and Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom). With no direct rivals on sale in India, it will appeal to a niche group of enthusiasts looking for a blend of performance, practicality, and exclusivity — a formula that has made the Octavia RS nameplate an icon among petrolheads.
