Mercedes-Benz Group AG has expanded its collaboration with Celonis, a Process Intelligence technology provider, to accelerate artificial intelligence adoption across its global manufacturing operations. The partnership, highlighted at Celosphere 2025 on November 5, has delivered measurable improvements in on-time delivery performance and operational decision-making.
The German automaker is utilizing the Celonis Process Intelligence Platform to manage complexity across its worldwide manufacturing network, which encompasses millions of components, suppliers, and interconnected processes. The platform integrates data from Mercedes-Benz’s production and logistics systems, complementing the company’s existing MO360 platform to provide comprehensive visibility into orders, parts, and operational workflows.
Mercedes-Benz has implemented Celonis technology across three primary operational areas. In order-to-delivery processes, AI-powered tools forecast delivery schedules, optimize production sequencing, and work to minimize delays. The aftersales division uses Process Intelligence to identify logistics bottlenecks in service parts distribution, enabling faster customer response times. In quality management, AI-driven anomaly detection systems identify production deviations before they impact final product quality.
Dr. Jörg Burzer, Member of the Board of Management at Mercedes-Benz Group AG overseeing Production, Quality, and Supply Chain Management, noted that data transparency across the production network and supply chain enables teams to operate with enhanced speed and accuracy. He stated that hundreds of users are currently active on the platform, with adoption expanding throughout the organization.
Bastian Nominacher, co-CEO and co-founder of Celonis, described Mercedes-Benz as demonstrating practical applications of Process Intelligence in enterprise AI deployment, emphasizing the transformation of operational visibility into actionable outcomes.
Celonis, headquartered in Munich and New York City, provides process mining and AI-powered platforms that create digital representations of business operations. The company serves thousands of organizations globally, with more than 20 offices worldwide.
