Ola Electric has commenced deliveries of its S1 Pro+ (5.2kWh) electric scooter, becoming the first vehicle from the company to feature its domestically manufactured 4680 Bharat Cell battery technology.
The milestone makes Ola Electric the first Indian company to control both battery pack assembly and cell production internally, according to the manufacturer. The company recently obtained ARAI certification under AIS-156 Amendment 4 standards from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways for its 4680 Bharat Cell battery packs in the 5.2 kWh configuration.
The S1 Pro+ (5.2kWh) features a 13 kW motor and accelerates from 0-40 kmph in 2.1 seconds. The scooter offers a range of 320 km under IDC with DIY mode testing conditions. Standard features include four riding modes, dual ABS, and disc brakes on both wheels.
An Ola Electric spokesperson stated that the delivery launch represents progress toward energy independence and demonstrates India’s capacity for EV innovation. The spokesperson emphasized that in-house cell technology enables the production of vehicles with improved range, performance, and safety specifications.
Ola Electric manufactures its vehicles at the Ola Futurefactory in Tamil Nadu, supported by research and development operations in Bengaluru’s Battery Innovation Centre, as well as facilities in the UK and United States. The company operates over 4,000 retail locations across India.
The S1 Pro+ (5.2kWh) is priced at ₹1,90,338. Ola Electric’s current product lineup includes multiple variants of the S1 scooter series and Roadster X motorcycle range, with prices spanning from ₹84,999 to ₹1,90,338 depending on configuration and battery capacity.
