The Rossmann drugstore group is undergoing personnel and structural changes in the management team. After around four decades in the company and ten years in management, CFO Peter Dreher (61) is retiring at the end of the year, as Rossmann confirmed to manager magazin. The “Lebensmittelzeitung” first reported.
The financial departments – including controlling, treasury and international finance – will be taken over by Michael Rybak in the future, as Rossmann confirms. In return, he will hand over responsibility for human resources and IT, which he had been responsible for on an interim basis since the end of 2023. Rybak, a trained banker, will also remain responsible for sales, logistics and building management. The company wants to use the restructuring to reorganize responsibilities and, in particular, to give greater importance to the areas of IT and artificial intelligence.
The operational management of the finance department goes to Oliver Bertram, who has been with Rossmann for four years and will in future report directly to Rybak as managing director of finance for domestic and international operations.
New responsibilities
New to the four-person management team is Christian Metzner, who left two years ago Volkswagen switched to Rossmann. He was previously responsible for Group IT at managing director level and will in future also be responsible for IT and human resources on the board. In the future, Stefan Sander will report to him, who will act as the new managing director for HR, auditing and data protection.
One of the most important projects in Metzner’s term of office to date has been the standardization of ERP systems in all Rossmann countries. After teething problems when entering the market Spain There was a particular focus on stabilizing the IT infrastructure. According to the company, the newly created management area is intended to make Rossmann future-proof through strategic focus and efficient implementation of central IT initiatives.
Raoul Roßmann, son of the company founder and spokesman for the management, and Alice Schardt-Roßmann, who is responsible for the non-food range, also complete the management team.
