Volkswagen-Boss Oliver Blume wants to further push the car manufacturer’s austerity measures. If the group wants to continue to earn money with its vehicles and be competitive in the future, costs must continue to be consistently optimized, Blume said at a works meeting in Wolfsburg, according to information from the company. VW has popular products and technologies – now it’s about increasing productivity and simplifying processes.
Blume emphasized how important it is to align the group more closely with the requirements of the future and the reality of the market. According to him, the company has therefore comprehensively repositioned itself together with the collective bargaining partners.
According to Blume, the agreements are being implemented together and are making good progress. Only an economically strong company is a safe employer, the CEO said to the workforce.
