Apparently the anti-theft device was affected
According to reports, Porsche drivers said that the Vehicle Tracking System (VTS), which monitors the car’s location as an anti-theft device, was affected. Initially, the lock could only be circumvented by resetting the factory alarm system and dismantling it. Motorists reported that they solved the problem by disconnecting the car battery for an extended period of time.
Experts are said to be investigating the cause of the problem. “After an initial assessment, we believe that the problem is not related to the design of the vehicles. We will report the results of a more detailed investigation,” Porsche Russia said.
The Rolf car dealer group does not rule out sabotage: “There is a possibility that this was done intentionally.” It is not known who could be responsible for a possible attack on the Porsche systems.
