TVS Motor Company has announced the PETRONAS TVS India One Make Championship 2026 Training and Selection Program, continuing its role in developing competitive racing talent across India.
The selection trials will take place between January 17 and February 7, 2026, in Bengaluru, Pune, Delhi, and Kolkata, with final selections scheduled at the Madras International Circuit in Chennai during May 2026.
The 2026 season coincides with TVS Apache completing 20 years of racing-derived performance engineering, built on TVS Racing’s track-to-road philosophy that transfers racing technology and training methodologies to production motorcycles.
Vimal Sumbly, Head of Premium Business at TVS Motor Company, emphasized the program’s focus on structured development rather than simply organizing races. The championship aims to identify and train talent through on-track learning, professional racing standards, and safety protocols.
The program maintains a track-first, safety-focused training approach. Participants compete on race-tuned TVS Apache motorcycles and receive high-standard safety equipment including Alpinestars airbag jackets, FIM-certified helmets, and FIM-specification racing suits.
Since launching the TVS India One Make Championship in 1994, over 3,000 riders have been trained across various categories, forming a foundation for India’s motorsports ecosystem.
Championship Categories
The 2026 program includes four distinct categories:
TVS Rookie OMC, launched in 2022, serves as an entry-level platform for young racers aged 15 to 21 with Level 1 FMSCI Training School Certification. Participants compete on race-specification TVS Apache RTR 200 motorcycles. Over 100 riders have been trained through this category.
TVS Apache RR 310 OMC, established in 2018, caters to experienced racers under 30 years old who have achieved podium finishes in national or one-make championships. More than 300 racers have competed in this advanced category, with several progressing to national and international competitions.
TVS Young Media Racer Program, running since 2017, provides automotive journalists and motorsports influencers with hands-on racing experience. The 2026 season will feature TVS Apache RTR 310 race motorcycles.
TVS Women’s OMC, India’s first exclusive women’s racing platform launched in 2016, has trained over 500 women riders on race-prepared TVS Apache RTR 200 motorcycles. The category accepts participants under 40 years of age, with previous champions in the top three positions ineligible for participation.
Regional selections combine women’s training and rookie selection events on Saturdays throughout January and February 2026. The schedule includes Aruani Grid in Bengaluru on January 17, Pune Kartdrome on January 24, Formula Karting in Noida on January 31, and ECO Park in Kolkata on February 7.
Final selections at the Madras International Circuit will take place across three days in May 2026, with Young Media training on May 15, Women’s selection on May 16, and Rookie and RR310 selection on May 17.
Previous year champions are restricted from participating in most categories, with winners ineligible across all divisions and runners-up excluded from women’s competition.
TVS Racing has operated since 1982 and introduced India’s first One Make Championship in 1994. The TVS Apache brand serves over 6.5 million riders globally, translating racing technology into production motorcycles across RTR and RR platforms.
