Record Market Performance Across Sectors
The Mahindra Group reported strong performance across multiple business segments during the past year. The company’s SUV division achieved record market share, while its farm equipment business posted its highest quarterly market share to date. The electric three-wheeler segment maintained a dominant position in what Mahindra described as a highly competitive space.
Tech Mahindra delivered its eighth consecutive quarter of margin expansion, focusing on artificial intelligence and operational excellence. Mahindra Finance reported robust profit growth combined with industry-leading asset quality metrics.
In real estate, Mahindra Lifespaces recorded high Gross Development Value additions and launched what the company characterized as industry-first Net Zero projects. Mahindra Holidays introduced Mahindra Signature Resorts, targeting the experiential travel sector, while Mahindra Susten continued its focus on renewable energy innovation.
Positioning on AI and Workforce Development
In his message, Mahindra outlined the company’s perspective on artificial intelligence’s impact on the workforce. He stated that AI would enhance rather than replace practical skills, arguing that technicians, machinists, and craftspeople equipped with AI tools would gain increased market value. Mahindra described this evolution as transforming “blue collar” work into what he termed “gold collar” careers.
The chairman announced his acceptance of the role of Chairman of the Board of Governors at Young India Skills University in Telangana. The institution focuses on combining technical proficiency with vocational training. The Mahindra Group has committed resources to various skill development programs, including Mahindra Tractors Skill Development Centres and Tech Mahindra’s training academies.
Education Sector Expansion Plans
Mahindra announced significant personal involvement in expanding Mahindra University’s scope and ambitions. He cited changing global education policies and visa regulations as factors that could redirect international students toward Indian institutions.
The chairman called for increased participation from Mahindra Group employees in educational initiatives, requesting that executives mentor students, assist in curriculum development, and provide internship opportunities across the organization’s businesses.
Mahindra characterized the current business environment as providing opportunities despite technological and geopolitical uncertainties. The company’s strategy emphasizes capability development, skills training, and talent cultivation as key priorities for future growth.
