Ashok Leyland reported total sales of 21,533 units in December 2025, including domestic and export markets, representing a 27% increase over the 16,957 units sold in December 2024. The company’s domestic sales stood at 19,855 units, up 26% from 15,713 units in the same month last year.
The December performance marks a sequential increase from November 2025, when the company recorded total sales of 18,272 units and domestic sales of 16,491 units. Both months showed strong year-on-year growth, with November registering a 29% increase in total sales and a 32% rise in domestic sales.
Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles
The M&HCV segment contributed significantly to December’s performance. M&HCV trucks recorded domestic sales of 11,387 units, a 27% increase from 8,979 units in December 2024. This compares with November’s domestic M&HCV truck sales of 8,576 units, which had shown a 30% year-on-year increase.
M&HCV bus sales reached 2,166 units in the domestic market during December, reflecting a 44% growth from 1,509 units a year earlier. The bus segment showed particularly strong growth compared to November, when domestic M&HCV bus sales stood at 1,662 units with a 27% year-on-year increase.
Including exports, the M&HCV category totaled 14,830 units in December, up 29% from 11,474 units in December 2024. M&HCV trucks reached 11,596 units (26% increase) while buses recorded 3,234 units (45% increase).
Light Commercial Vehicles
The LCV segment sold 6,302 units domestically in December, a 21% increase from 5,225 units in December 2024. This represents a slight uptick from November’s domestic LCV sales of 6,253 units, which had registered stronger year-on-year growth of 37%.
Total LCV sales including exports stood at 6,703 units in December, up 22% from 5,483 units in the previous year.
Cumulative Performance
For the cumulative period from April to December 2025, Ashok Leyland’s domestic sales reached 1,38,219 units, a 10% increase from 1,26,126 units in the corresponding period of 2024. Total sales including exports stood at 1,50,979 units, up 11% from 1,35,921 units in the previous year.
The M&HCV segment showed cumulative domestic sales of 85,698 units (9% increase), while the LCV segment recorded 52,521 units (11% increase) for the nine-month period.
