Mercedes-Benz India has opened a new dealership in Bengaluru, introducing Karnataka’s first Maybach Lounge as part of a facility that combines luxury vehicle sales with service capabilities. The company also launched the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 SUV, priced at INR 2.75 crores, which will be manufactured in India for the first time outside the United States.
The facility, operated by Viva Star and located in South Bengaluru, was completed in five months with an investment of approximately INR 200 million. Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, and Prasad Deshpande, Managing Director of Mercedes-Benz Viva Star, inaugurated the dealership.
Bengaluru becomes the first city in India to house both a Maybach Lounge and a Maybach Icons of Luxury store. The development comes as India has entered Mercedes-Maybach’s top five markets globally.
The sales facility covers 10,400 square feet across four levels and includes six car display positions and one delivery bay. It features private and semi-private consultation areas, a customer lounge, and a 60 kW fast charger for electric vehicles.
The service center spans 16,600 square feet with 19 working bays offering preventive maintenance, general repairs, and body and paint services. A team of 74 professionals operates the facility, which includes a 180 kW fast charger and certified technicians.
The Maybach Lounge incorporates a shop-in-shop concept with the Maybach Retail Kit, which presents customization options from the manufaktur range. These retail kits are manufactured in Germany and provide consultation services for vehicle personalization.
Mercedes-Benz India plans to open 20 new luxury touchpoints in 2026 across three new cities, including new dealerships and upgrades to existing facilities. The company operates over 140 luxury touchpoints in more than 50 cities nationwide.
The automaker has been in India for 30 years and maintains a production facility in Chakan near Pune, established in 2009. The facility produces several models locally, including the A-Class, C-Class, E-Class Long Wheelbase, S-Class, and multiple SUV models, along with electric vehicles.
